Scale
  • 1 lb white fish fillets (cod or tilapia)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • Optional: sliced avocado, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush the spice mixture evenly over the fish fillets.
  4. Place the fish on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  5. While the fish bakes, prepare the sauce by whisking together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic, and honey in a small bowl.
  6. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  7. Flake the baked fish into bite-sized pieces.
  8. Assemble tacos by placing fish on tortillas, topping with shredded cabbage, cilantro, and a drizzle of the prepared sauce.
  9. Garnish with sliced avocado and lime wedges if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra heat, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the creamy sauce or top with pickled jalapeños.
