A quick and flavorful Chinese Beef Broccoli Stir-fry featuring tender beef slices and crisp broccoli in a savory garlic soy sauce, perfect for a wholesome weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, brown sugar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until just browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets to the pan, stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender.
  5. Return the beef to the pan and pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve with steamed jasmine rice or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
