Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Moist and flavorful, this Chocolate Chip Banana Bread combines ripe bananas and gooey chocolate chips for a comforting homemade treat perfect for breakfast or snack time.

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  5. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in the flour until just incorporated.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle some chopped nuts on top before baking or serve warm with a spread of butter.
