Christmas Sprinkle Cookies

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ cup Christmas-themed sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in half of the Christmas sprinkles into the dough.
  7. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining sprinkles on top of each cookie and gently press them in.
  9. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  10. Remove from oven and let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra festive flavor, try adding a teaspoon of almond extract or swap milk with heavy cream for richer cookies.
