Indulge in these rich and creamy Creme Brulee Cookies that combine a delicate vanilla custard flavor with a crisp caramelized sugar topping, perfect for a decadent dessert treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar (for caramelizing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Remove cookies from the oven and immediately sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of white sugar on top of each cookie.
  9. Use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden and crisp. If you don’t have a torch, place under a hot broiler for 1-2 minutes watching closely.
  10. Allow cookies to cool completely before serving to let the caramelized sugar harden.

Notes

For a richer flavor, chill the dough for an hour before baking. Serve with a cup of coffee or vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
