Fried Brie Bites

Fried Brie Bites on a Wooden Board

These golden-brown Fried Brie Bites are a delightful appetizer! Crispy on the outside with a warm, melty brie center, they’re perfect with a drizzle of honey or a dollop of jam.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces Brie cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Honey or jam, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the flour, beaten egg, and panko breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.
  2. Dredge each brie cube in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully covered.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Carefully drop the coated brie bites into the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot.
  5. Fry for 15-20 seconds per side, or until golden brown. Be quick, you don’t want the brie to melt out completely.
  6. Remove the fried brie bites with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve immediately with a drizzle of honey or a dollop of your favorite jam, if desired.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or Italian seasoning to the panko breadcrumbs. Serve immediately for the best texture.
