Garlic Butter Fried Chicken

Crispy, golden fried chicken infused with rich garlic butter flavor, perfect for a comforting and flavorful meal any day of the week.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, then dredge thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture.
  5. Carefully place the dredged chicken pieces into the hot oil. Fry for 6-8 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
  6. In a separate small pan, melt butter over medium heat, then add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Once chicken is cooked, drain on paper towels, then immediately brush or drizzle with garlic butter.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For an extra crispy crust, double dredge the chicken by dipping once again in buttermilk and flour before frying. Serve with mashed potatoes or a fresh green salad.
