  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and green food coloring until evenly combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and coat each ball thoroughly in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until cookies are set but still soft in the center.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, drizzle melted white chocolate or add green sugar sprinkles before baking.
