Ground Beef Bulgogi

Ground Beef Bulgogi is a flavorful Korean dish featuring marinated and sautéed ground beef with sweet and savory notes, perfect for a quick and delicious dinner.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste) – optional
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Mix well to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the marinated ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Stir in sliced green onions and gochujang if using. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Serve ground beef bulgogi over steamed rice or wrapped in lettuce leaves for a delicious, authentic Korean experience. You can also add kimchi on the side for extra flavor.
