This Ground Turkey Teriyaki Rice Bowl combines lean ground turkey with a savory teriyaki glaze served over fluffy rice for a quick and healthy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Steamed broccoli or snap peas for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over the cooked turkey in the skillet. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
  6. Serve the teriyaki turkey over cooked white rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and additional green onions if desired.
  7. Add steamed broccoli or snap peas on the side for a complete meal.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the turkey in the teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes before cooking or top with a fried egg for added protein.
