Delight in these zesty Limoncello Cookies that combine a tender buttery texture with the bright, citrusy kick of limoncello liqueur, perfect for a refreshing dessert or afternoon treat.

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup limoncello liqueur
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, followed by the limoncello, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined to form a dough.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow cookies to cool completely on wire racks.
  9. Dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of lemon flavor, try adding a drizzle of lemon glaze or dipping half the cookie in white chocolate.
