Peppermint Bark Brownies

Fudgy brownies swirled with peppermint and topped with crushed peppermint bark, these Peppermint Bark Brownies are the perfect festive treat for the holidays! Rich, decadent, and easy to make.

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup crushed peppermint candies
  • 8 ounces peppermint bark, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in ½ cup of crushed peppermint candies.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Sprinkle chopped peppermint bark over the top of the brownie batter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  10. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
  11. Sprinkle with additional crushed peppermint candies before serving, if desired.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, drizzle melted white chocolate over the brownies after they have cooled and sprinkle with crushed peppermint.
