Festive Spicy Cranberry Salsa

This vibrant and spicy cranberry salsa is the perfect balance of sweet and heat. Serve it with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, or even as a festive topping for your holiday meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries and remove any stems.
  2. In a food processor, pulse the cranberries until coarsely chopped. Alternatively, chop them by hand.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped cranberries, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, orange juice, honey, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir well to combine.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve chilled.

Notes

For a milder salsa, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra heat. This salsa is delicious with cream cheese and crackers!
