Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pickled jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers or pretzel crumbs, for coating
  • Crackers, vegetables, or pretzels, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, bacon, jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Place a large piece of plastic wrap on a clean surface. Spoon the cheese mixture onto the plastic wrap and shape it into a ball. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  3. Place the crushed Ritz crackers or pretzel crumbs in a shallow dish.
  4. Remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator and unwrap it. Roll the cheese ball in the cracker crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Serve immediately with crackers, vegetables, or pretzels.

Notes

For a milder flavor, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeños before chopping. You can also use a different type of cracker or nut for coating, such as pecans or walnuts.
