Delight in tender wontons filled with seasoned pork, served in a vibrant and spicy chilli sauce that perfectly balances heat and flavor. This dish offers an irresistible appetizer or snack with a fiery kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g ground pork
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 30 wonton wrappers
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup chilli sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the wonton filling.
  2. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and add about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold to form a triangle, and press the edges firmly to seal.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the wontons for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix chilli sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and chili flakes to create the spicy chilli sauce.
  6. Drain the fried wontons on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the wontons hot, drizzled generously with the spicy chilli sauce and garnished with fresh cilantro.

Notes

For an extra crunchy texture, try deep-frying the wontons instead of pan-frying. Serve with a side of cucumber salad to balance the heat.
