Stuffed Mushrooms

Deliciously baked stuffed mushrooms filled with a savory blend of cheeses, herbs, and breadcrumbs, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 12 large white mushrooms, stems removed
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems, finely chop the stems.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté garlic and chopped mushroom stems until softened.
  4. In a bowl, combine sautéed stems and garlic, cream cheese, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spoon the mixture into each mushroom cap, pressing gently.
  6. Place stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle a pinch of red pepper flakes into the filling or add cooked crumbled sausage for a heartier version.
