Sugared Cranberries on a Festive Table

These sugared cranberries are a festive and delicious treat, perfect for snacking or garnishing holiday desserts. The tartness of the cranberries combined with the sweet sugar coating makes for an irresistible combination.

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 2 cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water and 1 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and add the cranberries. Stir to coat.
  3. Cover the saucepan and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight.
  4. Drain the cranberries in a colander. Discard the syrup.
  5. Place the remaining 1 cup of sugar in a shallow dish.
  6. Working in batches, roll the cranberries in the sugar until they are completely coated.
  7. Place the sugared cranberries on a wire rack lined with parchment paper to dry for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a festive touch, use coarse sugar or add a pinch of edible glitter to the sugar coating.
