Vegan Brownies

Deliciously rich and fudgy vegan brownies made without eggs or dairy, perfect for a healthy plant-based dessert.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the applesauce, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, and almond milk.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in vegan chocolate chips if using.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra fudgy brownies, refrigerate for an hour before serving. You can also add chopped nuts for added texture.
