White Garlic Pizza Sauce

Elevate your homemade pizza with this creamy and flavorful white garlic pizza sauce. Made with fresh garlic, herbs, and a touch of cream, it’s a delicious alternative to traditional tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly to create a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.
  7. Spread evenly over pizza dough and top with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of low-fat. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice at the end for a bright, tangy flavor.
